Milk Production in Kyrgyzstan Sees Increase in 2024
According to a recent report by the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), milk production in Kyrgyzstan increased by 2.6 percent in 2024. Farms of all categories contributed to the production of 459,700 tons of livestock and poultry for slaughter in live weight, a significant increase from the previous year.
The total milk production in Kyrgyzstan reached 1,823.8 million tons, marking an improvement from the previous year. Additionally, egg production saw a notable increase, totaling 790.3 million eggs, up 15.2 percent from 2023.
This growth in production was not limited to Kyrgyzstan alone, as all member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) saw an increase in the production of livestock and poultry for slaughter. Milk production also increased in all states of the Union, except for Armenia. While egg production saw an increase in Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, and Kazakhstan, there was a decrease noted in Armenia and Russia.
These positive trends in milk and egg production are a promising sign for the agricultural sector in Kyrgyzstan and the EAEU as a whole. It reflects the continuing efforts to improve and expand the agricultural industry in the region.
