A Magical Evening of Indian Cinema Celebrated in Ashgabat
The Mukams Palace of the State Cultural Center in Ashgabat was filled with the melodies and rhythms of Indian cinema as a special musical evening was held to commemorate the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas (Non-Resident Indian Day) and honor the 100th anniversary of the legendary Raj Kapoor. Organized by the Indian Embassy in Ashgabat in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, the event was a huge success, drawing in a full house of attendees.
The guests of the evening were treated to a unique program featuring the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan, led by conductor and artistic director Rasul Klychev. The orchestra performed iconic melodies from legendary Indian films, captivating the audience with their beautiful renditions.
The evening showcased soundtracks from timeless Indian films such as "Shree 420," "Awaara," "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge," "Devdas," "Disco Dancer," "Bajirao Mastani," "Slumdog Millionaire," "3 Idiots," "Seeta Aur Geeta," and "Bobby," among others. The songs were performed by talented soloists including Bahram Huseynov, Tachnabat Yomudova, Gozel Annakhanova, Mansur Sharipov, Gulzada Gorganova, Arzuv Gorganova, and Dovran Shammyev, who received enthusiastic applause from the audience for their brilliant performances in Hindi.
Accompanied by vibrant dance productions, the vocal performances created a truly immersive experience for the audience, bringing the magic of Indian cinema to life on stage. The two-hour concert flew by in a mesmerizing whirl of music, dance, and artistry, leaving the audience with unforgettable emotions and memories.
