Informal Cyprus Meeting Commences with Extended Participants – BRTK
The United Nations (UN) Secretary General Antonio Guterres recently hosted the Gayriresmi Cyprus meeting in Geneva. The expanded non-formal meeting began with a dinner at the Intercontinental Hotel, where the UN Secretary General welcomed President Ersin Tatar, Greek leader Nikos Hristodulidis, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Greek Foreign Minister Gerapetritis, and Britain’s State Minister Stephen Doughtyretyretiy.
The dinner, held in two separate tables, saw the presence of UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, President Ersin Tatar, Greek leader Nikos Hristodulidis, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Greek Foreign Minister Gerapetritis, and England’s European and North American Minister Stephen Doughty. Special representatives of the leaders and other officials were also in attendance.
The meeting in Geneva marks an important step towards resolving the long-standing Cyprus issue, with key stakeholders coming together to discuss potential solutions and pathways towards peace and stability in the region.
