Özer, a suspect in a recent case, made a statement at the prosecutor’s office and then left the courthouse. In his statement, Özer mentioned his close friendship with former Şişli Mayor suspect Muammer Keskin. He claimed that he donated 50 thousand liras to the “You Put a Brick” campaign initiated by the CHP Istanbul Provincial Directorate, and that he handed over the money to Keskin at that time.
Özer stated that he had requested a receipt for the donation, but was informed by the provincial headquarters that it would be sent to him later. However, due to the pandemic, the receipt was never sent. Over time, the issue of the receipt was forgotten, and Özer emphasized that his donation was not made unlawfully.
