Integration of UPS-82 into Su-25 Fighter Jet

TÜBİTAK-SAGE, a research and development institute in Turkey, has integrated its Winged Guidance Kit (KGK) into Azerbaijan’s Su-25 fighter aircraft. This new integration is expected to allow the Su-25 to hit targets more accurately and from further distances. With the increasing defense industry relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan, there is a greater need for these types of integrations. The Winged Guidance Kit (KGK) is designed to convert existing unguided 500lb MK-82 and 1000lb MK-83 general-purpose bombs into air-to-ground long-range smart munitions. It is capable of operating day and night in all weather conditions and has precision strike capability with an integrated ANS/KKS encrypted software system. Additionally, the UPS can reach a maximum range of 60 nautical miles when launched from a high altitude. Turkey is continuing to integrate long-range and precision-guided munitions into Azerbaijani warplanes. The integrated ammunition is in NATO standard, and it is expected that Azerbaijan will also acquire SOM Cruise Missiles from Turkey in the future.
