International Carp Fishing Tournament Draws Anglers from 28 Countries

The 11th International Balaton Carp Cup (IBCC) is set to kick off on April 12, with a record number of countries participating in the week-long fishing competition. Anglers from 28 countries, including Vietnam, Kazakhstan, England, Norway, and South Africa, will gather at Lake Balaton to compete for the biggest carp.
Teams of 3-4 anglers will line the entire shoreline of Lake Balaton, aiming to catch carp weighing over 10 kg. Every carp over 10 kg will count towards the final score, with special awards for the teams catching the largest common and mirror carp.
Fishing enthusiasts are eager to see if the previous lake record of 35.6 kg will be broken during this year’s competition. The event will also feature an international ambassador, three-time world champion Rob Hughes, who will report live from the scene.
The competition will begin with an official opening ceremony on April 12 and conclude with an awards ceremony on April 19. For the first time, 24/7 webcams will provide live coverage of the action on The Fishing&Hunting Channel and at https://ibcc.hu.
Hungary is gearing up to host the biggest carp fishing event in the world, and with the quality of registered anglers, spectators can expect to see some amazing results. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting fishing competition at Lake Balaton.
