Introducing the Central Bank’s New Online Inflation Calculator
The Central Bank of Uzbekistan has recently launched an online inflation calculator that allows users to compare the purchasing power of the Uzbekistani Som (UZS) over different years. This new tool utilizes monthly Consumer Price Index (CPI) data from reports provided by the Statistics Agency under the President of Uzbekistan.
Users can input a specific amount of money, choose a starting period, and select a target year to see how the value has changed when adjusted for inflation. The calculator covers data from December 1999 to the present, giving users a wide range of options for comparison.
For example, if a consumer basket that cost 1,000,000 UZS in January 2020, it would be equivalent to 1,640,790 UZS in January 2025. This information not only shows the difference in purchasing power but also provides additional insights such as total inflation over the period, average monthly inflation rate, and average annual inflation rate.
