Iran to Resume Exploration for Oil and Gas Fields in the Persian Gulf in 2025
Iran has announced its plans to resume exploration for oil and gas fields in the Persian Gulf in 2025. The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) will be responsible for carrying out the exploration work, as reported by Mehr news agency.
The country had previously suspended offshore exploration in 2019 due to a shortage of offshore drilling rigs. However, Iran has now secured a supplier for the necessary equipment, allowing them to move forward with their exploration activities in the Persian Gulf.
