İSKİ addresses concerns over pollution in Arnavutköy’s Blue Creek
Residents in the Arnavutköy district of Istanbul, Turkey, are concerned about a creek that has turned blue with a terrible odor emanating from it. This has led to a demand for legal action to be taken against the organization responsible for the pollution of the creek.
According to the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ), the cause of the color change cannot be determined. However, rumors are circulating that factory waste may have been mixed with the creek water. İSKİ has promised to take legal action against organizations responsible for the pollution.
Allegations have also been made that the creek reached the dam after mixing with the Alibeyköy Stream. However, İSKİ has reassured people that the water quality of the dam and its feeding streams are tested in their laboratories.
Residents are still concerned about the pollution of the creek and urge authorities to take appropriate measures to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future.
