Israel Denies Palestinians Access to Water – Breaking News

The Israeli army’s continuous attacks on Gaza Strip have reached 123 days, with no sign of stopping despite international outcry. Access to humanitarian aid, especially in the northern regions, has been blocked by Israel, leaving Palestinians in the region starving and thirsty. Adding to the struggle, the Israeli army has targeted water wells and resources, resulting in severe water shortages for the people.
The desperate situation has forced Palestinians to travel long distances to access water sources, with fears of being targeted by Israeli warplanes or soldiers. Waiting in long queues, Gazans endure hours of waiting only to receive a few liters of dirty or undrinkable water.
Mahmud Muhammed Salim, a resident of Tel ez-Zaghter Neighborhood in the north of Gaza, expressed the severity of the water shortage, “There are no water wells left in Tel ez-Zaghter, they destroyed the water wells and infrastructure. We have to reach simple water wells to find water.” Salim also urged the Islamic world for help, emphasizing the urgent need for water, flour, fuel, and humanitarian aid.
Hussein al-Arbid, another Palestinian, walks about one kilometer to retrieve water, highlighting the struggle they face due to the destruction of water lines and barrels from the attacks. Both Salim and al-Arbid called for assistance from the international community to alleviate the suffering in Gaza.
The United Nations (UN) Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has also issued a warning, stating that “Access to clean water in the Gaza Strip is very limited due to Israel’s ongoing brutal bombardment.” The statement highlighted the growing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, putting thousands of defenseless Gazans at risk of disease due to the limited availability of aid and the destruction of infrastructure from Israeli attacks. The dire situation in Gaza demands urgent attention and action from the international community to provide relief to the suffering population.
