Israel Retaliates with Explosions in Tehran: Breaking News from Turkey

In a recent development, the Israeli army has carried out targeted attacks on military sites in Iran. According to a statement from the Israeli army spokesman, these attacks were in response to recent aggression from the Iranian regime towards Israel.
Reports from Iran’s semi-official news agency Fars have confirmed that Israeli forces targeted military bases in the west and southwest regions of Tehran. Iranian state television has also acknowledged the explosions in the capital city, although the exact cause is still unknown. The semi-official Tasnim News Agency has assured that there is no disruption at Tehran International Imam Khomeini Airport and Mehrabad Airport.
Contrary to some circulated images on social media, the semi-official Mehr News Agency has confirmed that there was no explosion at the oil refinery in Tehran. Iranian officials have yet to make a statement regarding the incident.
The White House National Security Council has supported Israel’s actions, citing their right to self-defense. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant were reportedly at the Ministry of Defense building during the attacks.
In addition to the explosions in Tehran, there have been reports of simultaneous explosions in Syria’s capital Damascus and the Homs province. Explosion sounds were heard near Damascus, and social media accounts close to the regime have noted similar occurrences in Homs, where Hezbollah and Iranian-backed groups hold a strong presence.
