Israeli Army Conducts First Day of Ramadan Raids in West Bank

Israeli Forces Carry Out Raids in Tulkerim, Damaging Infrastructure in Palestinian Areas

In a recent report from the official Palestinian agency WAFA, it was stated that Israeli forces conducted raids in the city of Tulkerim, deploying with more than 25 military vehicles and 4 military bulldozers. These forces were seen in the southern and western parts of the city, as well as around the Tulkerim Refugee Camp.

The Israeli forces caused significant damage to the infrastructure of the city center, including digging up a street near Al-Alimi Junction. Additionally, they headed towards the Nur Shams Refugee Camp in the east of the city, damaging the area around the Martyr Seyf Abu Lebed Junction at the western entrance of the camp for the second time in two days.

Within the refugee camp, the Israeli forces were deployed in the “Jebel an-Nasr” and “Maslah” neighborhoods, where they damaged the main street opposite the entrance of Nur Shams Refugee Camp and the surroundings of the Nasr Mosque with bulldozers. Clashes broke out between Palestinians and the Israeli forces during the raid, leading to loud explosions being heard in the area.

Further escalating tensions, Israeli soldiers also damaged Palestinian properties at the entrance of Menshiyye District with bulldozers, destroying a car wash owned by Palestinian Mutasim al-Ali, who was killed on February 7.

After spending 5 hours in the city and damaging infrastructure in various neighborhoods, the Israeli soldiers withdrew and later raided the Tulkerim Refugee Camp. They stationed themselves on Nablus Street, opposite the camp and the roads leading to it, continuing to damage infrastructure and clashing with Palestinians who resisted the raid.

These actions are part of a larger pattern of aggression by Israeli forces since October 7, 2023, when the Israeli army launched an attack on the Gaza Strip. Since then, there has been an increase in detentions, raids, and attacks against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. A total of 7,505 Palestinians have been detained in the West Bank, while 424 Palestinians have lost their lives in attacks by Israeli forces and illegal Jewish settlers.
