Hamas and Islamic Jihad target Israeli forces in clashes in Gaza
Hamas’s military wing, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, and Islamic Jihad’s military wing, Quds Sharia, have issued a written statement detailing their recent violent clashes with the Israeli army in various locations in the Gaza Strip.
The statement revealed that Palestinian groups engaged in intense clashes with Israeli forces in Rafah in the south of the Strip, in the east of the Jibaliya Refugee Camp in the north, and in the Az-Zeytun neighborhood of Gaza City.
During these clashes, 21 vehicles belonging to the Israeli army, including 14 tanks, 4 bulldozers, and 3 personnel transport vehicles, were targeted by the Palestinian groups.
In one incident, Israeli forces were attempting to enter a tunnel in Rafah when a booby trap at the tunnel entrance detonated, resulting in casualties among the Israeli forces.
Additionally, a booby-trapped house in Rafah was destroyed, leading to the death and injury of Israeli special forces who were inside the building at the time.
The statement from Hamas and Islamic Jihad highlights the ongoing tensions and violence in the Gaza Strip, as Palestinian groups continue to resist Israeli occupation and aggression in the region.
