Israeli Forces Kill 10 Palestinians in Gaza Attacks

The violence between Israel and Palestine continues to escalate, with devastating consequences for civilians on both sides. According to reports from the official Palestinian agency WAFA, the recent attacks by Israeli warplanes have resulted in the deaths of 5 Palestinians and injuries of 22 others in the city of Rafah.

In addition to the casualties in Rafah, 9 Palestinians were injured in attacks on displaced people’s tents in Mevasi, and 7 were injured at the Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Belah. Further airstrikes in Gaza City resulted in 4 deaths and 15 injuries, while another person was killed and 3 injured in an attack in Jibiliya.

The conflict intensified on October 7 when Hamas’s armed wing launched a comprehensive attack on Israel in response to ongoing violations against Palestinians and sacred sites. Israel reported 1,200 deaths and over 5,000 injuries from the initial attacks.

Since then, the Israeli attacks on Gaza have claimed the lives of over 30,000 Palestinians, including thousands of children and women, with tens of thousands more injured. The destruction of civilian infrastructure, including hospitals and schools, has only added to the humanitarian crisis.

Despite a brief humanitarian pause in November that saw the release of some prisoners, the conflict shows no signs of abating. In the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, 424 Palestinians have died in clashes with Israeli forces and settlers. Border clashes between the Israeli army and Hezbollah have also led to significant casualties on both sides.

As the violence continues to escalate, the international community faces mounting pressure to intervene and find a peaceful resolution to the conflict. The toll on civilian lives and infrastructure is a stark reminder of the urgent need for a lasting ceasefire and a path towards reconciliation.
