Israeli Forces Targeting Schools and Shelters in Cibaliya
The Israeli army has been accused of causing widespread destruction in the Cibaliya Refugee Camp, according to a statement released by the Government Media Office. The statement reported that civilian residences in the camp were targeted by the Israeli army, with schools and accommodation centers being purposefully attacked.
The refugee camp was heavily bombed from air, land, and sea, leading to the destruction of civilian settlements and causing harm to many innocent residents. The deliberate targeting of schools, gathering places, and accommodation centers resulted in the deaths of dozens of people and injuries to hundreds more.
The ongoing crimes committed by the occupation have resulted in the deaths of over 45,000 people and injuries to approximately 80,000. Homes, public buildings, infrastructure, and essential facilities like hospitals have been almost completely destroyed due to direct targeting by the Israeli army.
A warning of a “food safety crisis” was also issued in the statement, highlighting the closure of the Rafah Border Gate and the prevention of aid trucks from reaching parts of the Gaza Strip. This blockade has left thousands of injured individuals in need of treatment abroad stranded, putting their lives at risk.
The statement called on the United Nations and the international community to take urgent and decisive action to pressure Israel to halt its genocidal war and attacks on the Palestinian people. The situation in the Cibaliya Refugee Camp and the wider Gaza Strip is dire, and immediate intervention is needed to prevent further loss of life and suffering.
