Istanbul Governorship Announces New Year’s Measures for 2025

The Istanbul Governorship has released a statement detailing the security measures that will be in place for the arrival of the year 2025. With a total of 60,068 personnel from the Police, Gendarmerie, and Coast Guard units, the city is prepared to ensure that citizens can welcome the new year in peace.

In addition to security measures, efforts to combat illegal immigration will continue with Mobile Migration Vehicles at the beginning of the year. Heavy tonnage vehicles will be prohibited from entering certain districts from December 31, 2024, until January 1, 2025.

Various teams, including those from the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, 112 and Provincial Health Directorate, and Provincial Directorate of Commerce, will be working to ensure the safety and well-being of citizens during the New Year’s events. Inspection teams will also be on hand to address any issues that may arise, such as unregistered behavior in rented accommodations or service disruptions.

The Istanbul Police Directorate, Provincial Gendarmerie Command, and Coast Guard Command will be stationed at various points throughout the city to provide security and assist citizens. Road closures and alternative routes have been outlined to manage traffic flow and ensure the safety of all residents during the New Year’s celebrations.

Citizens are advised to adhere to the instructions and guidelines provided by authorities to ensure a peaceful and secure New Year’s Eve in Istanbul. Let us all welcome the year 2025 with peace and joy.
