Appointments at the Istanbul Police Department have been announced
In recent developments at the Istanbul Police Department, several changes have been made in key positions. A total of 13 branch and district police chiefs have been appointed as deputy provincial police chiefs, while alterations have been implemented in 19 branch directorates and 20 district police chiefs.
Among the appointments, it is worth noting that 13 second-class police chiefs, including Beşiktaş District Police Chief Mehmet Baykara, Kağıthane District Police Chief Mesut Aslan, and Fatih District Police Chief Cemal Ünlü, have been appointed as deputy provincial police chiefs.
Furthermore, Hakan Öztürk has been selected for the Public Order Branch Directorate, Kubilay Akbaş for the Anti-Terrorism Branch Directorate, İdris Kaya for the Fight Against Organized Crimes Branch Directorate, and Hakan Dulkadir for the Financial Crimes Branch Directorate. Additionally, Mustafa Aktan, Halil İbrahim Başlı, and Ahmet Lütfü Çırakoğlu have been appointed to various key positions within the department.
In a related development, appointments have been made to 20 district police directorates. Erdem Torlak will now lead the Fatih District Police Department, while Şinasi Kaptanoğlu has been assigned to the Beşiktaş District Police Department. Other appointments include Serkan Gömce to the Şişli District Police Department, Abdurrahman Soğuksu to the Beyoğlu District Police Department, and Uğur Kurak to the Beykoz District Police Department, among others.
These changes also include the assignment of 12 second and third class police chiefs to various districts. The Istanbul Police Department is optimistic that these new appointments will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of law enforcement operations in the city.
