İYİ Party Rejects Alliance Offer from CHP for Local Elections
In a surprising turn of events, İYİ Party has rejected an offer from the Republican People’s Party (CHP) to form an alliance for the upcoming local elections. The party stated that they prefer to cooperate in the local elections rather than form an alliance.
This decision comes as a departure from the previous three elections, where İYİ Party and CHP had participated under the umbrella of the Nation Alliance.
Following the May 14-28 elections, the İYİ Party General Administrative Board announced that they would be entering the local elections in March 2024 with their own candidates in all 81 provinces. Furthermore, the party has already started announcing their candidates for various provinces, including Izmir, Kahramanmaraş, and Eskişehir.
This development has the potential to significantly impact the political landscape in Turkey, as it marks a shift in the relationship between İYİ Party and CHP. It remains to be seen how this decision will impact the outcomes of the upcoming local elections.
