House of horrors that drew reactions in Izmir: Lifeless mannequins were collected
A workplace in Izmir that operated as a house of horrors recently caused quite a stir on social media. Billboards and plastic mannequins were hung for advertising purposes, but the lifeless mannequins sparked outrage and led to a complaint being filed. In response, police teams stepped in and removed the disturbing display.
The plastic mannequins, which were meant to attract attention, were confiscated after the public expressed their concerns. The horror house, located in the Alsancak district, had hung the mannequins on its exterior for advertising purposes, but instead of drawing in curious visitors, it drew reactions reminiscent of the recent murders of women in Istanbul.
Police teams from the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality took action and collected bloody arm models, hand models, and skull-like models from the premises. Following the complaints and the removal of the mannequins, the Izmir Governorship released a statement regarding the incident.
According to the governor’s statement, judicial and administrative proceedings have been initiated against the business owners. The display of lifeless mannequins in a house of horrors may have been intended for marketing purposes, but it ultimately led to a public outcry and legal repercussions for those responsible.
