Jalal-Abad to Welcome New Art School
On October 26, 2024, the head of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Kamchybek Tashiev, made a visit to the Jalal-Abad regional art boarding school. The school, whose building dates back to 1906, is in a state of disrepair and is currently unfit for use.
Last year, thirty children from the boarding school were temporarily relocated to another building. However, the new location lacks a dormitory, creating a pressing need for proper accommodation for the students.
During his visit, Kamchybek Tashiev directed officials to commence construction on a new building for the boarding school as soon as possible. The plan includes demolishing the old buildings to make way for a modernized Jalal-Abad regional art boarding school that will have facilities to accommodate up to 100 students.
This initiative aims to provide a safe and conducive environment for the children at the boarding school, ensuring they have access to the necessary resources for their education and well-being. The commitment to rebuilding the school demonstrates the government’s dedication to improving educational facilities in the region.
