Kyrgyzstan Aims to Launch 100 Industrial Facilities Annually
During an event celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, Akylbek Japarov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, announced a bold plan to launch 100 industrial facilities each year going forward. Japarov emphasized the importance of adopting an innovative approach, technological literacy, and engineering thinking to achieve success in this endeavor.
In his address, Japarov highlighted the significant achievements of Kyrgyzstan in terms of service exports, showcasing the country’s growing presence in international markets. He noted that in 2023, Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover reached nearly $5.4 billion, almost doubling compared to the previous year.
Furthermore, Japarov pointed out the country’s evolution into a key transportation hub connecting various countries and continents. He revealed that Kyrgyzstan’s GDP exceeded 1.2 trillion soms last year and is projected to reach 1.5 trillion soms this year. The Cabinet head also mentioned the impressive threefold increase in the country’s budget over the past three years.
Symbolizing this development, Japarov unveiled the leopard as the chosen symbol, citing its focused and strategic approach to achieving goals. He urged the nation to emulate the leopard’s determination and agility as it steers towards a prosperous future.
Looking ahead, Japarov outlined plans to introduce new tools for efficient state asset management and attract investments through modern platforms by 2030. He expressed optimism that Kyrgyzstan, according to the World Bank classification, is on track to elevate its GDP per capita and potentially transition to an upper-middle-income country by the end of the decade.
As Kyrgyzstan sets its sights on a future marked by industrial growth and economic prosperity, the nation appears poised to make significant strides in the global arena.
