Jeenbek Kulubaev Addresses Landlocked Countries’ Foreign Ministers

Bishkek – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Jeenbek Kulubaev, recently addressed the 23rd Annual Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Group of Landlocked Developing Countries at the UN headquarters. During his speech, Minister Kulubaev highlighted the achievements of the Vienna Programme of Action for Landlocked Countries over the past decade and stressed the significance of the upcoming adoption of the New Programme of Action for 2024-2034.

The focus of the new program will be on achieving sustainable development goals through the promotion of international trade, improvement of transit transport, development of entrepreneurship, and infrastructure. Specifically, the Kyrgyz Republic is placing great importance on projects such as the “China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan” railway, which is seen as strategic in connecting Kyrgyzstan to international trade routes.

Minister Kulubaev also emphasized the importance of addressing environmental challenges through an integrated approach. He highlighted the implementation of decisions from recent UN Climate Change Conferences and promoted Kyrgyzstan’s initiative on “Mountains and Climate” at the upcoming COP29 conference.
