Turkey’s Defense Industry President İsmail Demir visited the Malatya 1st Organized Industrial Zone (OIZ) to discuss housing and employment projects for earthquake victims. In his statement, Demir acknowledged that Malatya was one of the provinces most affected by the recent earthquake disaster, and emphasized the need to prevent such suffering in the future through technology and competence. He also noted that the defense industry sector had produced permanent solutions and assistance for urgent needs since the earthquake. Demir announced that a new project under the name of housing and employment would bring investment of over 1 billion liras in the first step for the production of multi-layer printed circuits in Malatya. He stated that the project will bring significant contribution to the country in terms of nationality, locality, and exports. Moreover, he emphasized that the first priority is for personnel employed in the project to be earthquake victims. The project will create a path to a wider technology chain with the contribution of the local industrial ecosystem around it and open employment opportunities for the earthquake victims. The visit was attended by Malatya’s Governor, Metropolitan Mayor, AK Party Malatya deputies, 1st OIZ Director, and representatives of relevant institutions and organizations.
