Adana working to remove flood damage

Heavy rainfall in the Kozan district of Adana caused severe flooding on Sunday, May 8, 2023. The downpour, which lasted for only 25 minutes, caused extensive damage and brought life to a standstill. Houses and businesses were inundated, and animals perished. Streets and alleys were flooded, making transportation impossible.
After the disaster, cleaning and damage assessment studies were initiated in the district. The final version of the damage was viewed from the air with a drone. The cleaning process has been started, and the authorities are trying to ensure the normal functioning of life in the district.
This was not the only disaster that occurred due to the heavy rains. In Kırıkkale, a service minibus was flooded, causing six injuries. The authorities are closely following the event and taking necessary measures.
It is essential to take adequate measures to prevent natural disasters such as these from causing significant damage and loss of life. At the same time, we must take responsibility for the environment and reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible to mitigate the effects of climate change. Let’s hope for a safer and healthier future for all.
