Northern Cyprus Table Tennis Federation crowns U19 champions
On Saturday, May 6th, Northern Cyprus Table Tennis Federation held its U19 Boys-Girls Tournament at the federation hall, where the champions in Table Tennis were announced. After a series of games, Girne American University athlete Özüm Özel managed to clinch the first place in the girls’ category, while Bekiroğulları Table Tennis Infrastructure Association athlete Tuğra Soyer emerged as the boys’ champion.
The event saw both athletes showcase their skill and talent, impressing the spectators and judges alike. The federation awarded prizes to all the winners, with the top four places awarded in both Boys and Girls categories.
The results are as follows; In the Girls’ category, Özüm Özel (GAU) was crowned champion, followed by Ecem Önder (ARUCAD Anka Sports Association), Liva Cevik (GAU), and Odenya Güneşoğlu (Dumlupınar) in the subsequent places. In the boys’ category, Tugra Soyer (Bekiroğulları MTAYD) managed to take the top spot, followed by Ada Olgun (Bekiroğulları MTAYD), Onur Yucel (ARUCAD Anka Sports Association), and Ali İleri (ARUCAD Anka Sports Association) in that order.
The Northern Cyprus Table Tennis Federation continues to promote and develop the sport in the region and creates opportunities for young athletes to showcase their skills. These tournaments also help young athletes gain experience that they can use in their future games.
