Jobbik Calls for Security Services Report on Ex-Husband of Former Justice Minister
The head of the Jobbik party’s parliament’s national security committee, Zoltán Sas, has requested security services to prepare a report on widely reported statements made by the divorced husband of former justice minister Judit Varga. This request comes after Varga resigned from all her positions earlier this month.
During a press conference, Sas expressed his concern over the potential impact of unsubstantiated rumors on public trust in the national security services. He emphasized the importance of addressing any wrongful practices within the national security services if they are found to be accurate.
Sas also highlighted the duty of national security agencies to monitor activities that could pose a risk to national security, whether it be related to warfare, economic situations, pandemics, or waves of migration. He noted that since national security services are unable to directly defend themselves in the media when attacked, it becomes the responsibility of the committee to represent them.
The request for a report on the ex-husband of Judit Varga signals Jobbik’s commitment to upholding the integrity of national security services and ensuring that they operate in a lawful and effective manner. As the committee awaits the report from security services, the outcome of this investigation could have significant implications for the political landscape in Hungary.
