Jodie Foster’s Son’s Misconception: Seeing Mom as a Construction Worker

Jodie Foster Shares Sincere Statements About Her Children
In a recent interview with the program called The View, famous actor and director Jodie Foster opened up about her approach to parenting and her decision to not reveal her fame to her sons, Charles and Christopher, when they were young.
Foster, a two-time Oscar winner, admitted, “I guess I didn’t want my kids to know me that way. I wanted them to know me as their mom who would go away and do things to make money.” She went on to explain, “I didn’t want them to be confused about what I do for a living.”
The now 25-year-old Charles Bernard Foster was taken to a movie set at the age of 3, where his mother bought him a plastic tool belt with construction tools, hoping to expose him to different career options. This experience led Charles to work in construction for a long time to earn a living.
Jodie Foster’s other son, 22-year-old Christopher Bernard Foster, also eventually learned about his mother’s fame as he grew up. Despite their growing interest in the entertainment industry, both sons are not particularly keen on watching their mother’s movies. Foster mentioned that she also prefers not to show them certain films in order to avoid being embarrassed.
One example she gave was the movie ‘Nell’, in which she plays a young girl growing up in a wild environment. “I have some movies that I never show them. Because I don’t want to be a laughing stock,” Foster explained.
Although both of her sons have shown interest in the entertainment industry, Foster emphasized that she wants them to forge their own paths and make their own choices when it comes to their careers.
