Jordan and Greece abolish visa requirements for Kyrgyz diplomatic passport holders
President of Kyrgyzstan signs agreements for visa exemption with Jordan and Greece
On June 15, 2024, President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan signed two important agreements related to visa exemptions with Jordan and Greece. These agreements were ratified by the Kyrgyz Parliament on May 15, 2024, following the necessary domestic procedures.
The first agreement, signed between the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, focuses on the mutual abolition of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and service passports. This means that citizens holding such passports from either country will be exempt from visa requirements for entry, exit, and transit to the territories of the states party to the agreement for a period not exceeding 90 days from the date of entry.
The second agreement, signed between the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the Government of Greece, similarly exempts citizens holding diplomatic passports from visa requirements. This agreement allows diplomatic passport holders from Kyrgyzstan and Greece to enter, exit, transit, and stay on the territory of the states party to the agreement for up to 90 days without needing a visa.
These agreements aim to strengthen diplomatic relations and facilitate easier travel between Kyrgyzstan, Jordan, and Greece. It is expected that these visa exemptions will help promote tourism, trade, and cultural exchange between the countries involved. President Japarov’s signing of these agreements underscores Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to fostering positive international relations and facilitating travel for its citizens.
