
Just In: Turkish Grand National Assembly Receives New Immunity Files – Türkiye News Update

The Presidency of the Turkish Grand National Assembly has received 21 immunity files from 18 deputies. These files have been presented to the Assembly Presidency’s Constitutional and Justice Commission for further review. Among the deputies whose files have been referred to the mixed commission are Deputy Chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and CHP Denizli Deputy Gülizar Biçer Karaca, Dem Party Co-Chairman and Adana Deputy Tulay Hatımoğulları Oruç, and CHP Group Deputy Chairman and Mersin Deputy Ali Mahir Başarır.
Other deputies whose immunity files are under review include CHP Aydın Deputy Süleyman Bülbül, TİP Istanbul Deputy Gamze Taşcıer, CHP Ankara Deputy Gamze Taşcıer, and CHP Izmir Deputy Sevda Erdan Kılıç. CHP Istanbul Deputy Cemal Enginyurt has the most files with a total of 4.
It is important to note that the Presidential Degree on the abolition of legislative immunity has been transferred to the mixed commission for further examination. This process reflects the ongoing efforts to ensure transparency and accountability within the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
