Uzbekistan Takes Measures to Boost Tourism with New Decree
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan has signed a new decree aimed at accelerating the country’s tourism potential and promoting the increase in local and foreign visitors. The document calls for a collaboration between several governmental departments including the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the Ministry of Transport, to allow vehicles of category M2 (which include cars with up to fourteen seats) to transport passengers through the Kamchik Pass.
The new decree stipulates that minibuses can only make the Kamchik Pass route during the daytime from April 1 to November 1, and drivers are required to have a minimum of 7 years of driving experience while the vehicles must meet certain conditions including the absence of gas cylinders and the installation of navigational traffic monitoring devices.
This latest measure is intended to reinforce the country’s position as an attractive tourist destination and boost visitor numbers by facilitating better transportation and connectivity along popular routes. With its beautiful architecture, rich cultural heritage and stunning natural landscapes, Uzbekistan offers a range of tourist attractions that range from historical monuments and architecture in cities such as Samarkand and Bukhara, to breathtaking mountain ranges and desert wilderness.
The new decree reflects the government’s commitment to developing the country’s tourism potential and promoting Uzbekistan as a prime tourist destination on the global stage. By focusing on improving transportation infrastructure and providing incentives to tourist operators, the government is keen to attract more visitors from around the world and contribute to the further growth of the country’s tourism industry.
