Kamchybek Tashiev on Decision to Eliminate Crime Boss Kamchy Kolbaev

SCNS Chairman Reveals Reasoning Behind Eliminating Crime Boss Kamchy Kolbaev

In a recent video posted on Facebook by one of his supporters, Otkurbek Rakhmanov, the Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS), Kamchybek Tashiev, explained for the first time why he made the decision to eliminate crime boss Kamchy Kolbaev.

During a meeting with deputy ministers of education and science, rectors of universities, directors of professional lyceums and colleges, Tashiev emphasized the necessity of taking action against organized crime groups in Kyrgyzstan. He described how these groups operated as a parallel state with their own hierarchy and network of influence throughout the country.

Tashiev stated, “The level of crime was such that a crime boss, who oversaw the entire republic, seized power. They had the same system as the state. We had to take forced measures to eliminate the main figures in the criminal world and their accomplices for the sake of the state. The country has been liberated. There is no organized crime today.”

As a result of a large-scale operation, the SCNS was able to eliminate the main figures in the criminal world, their accomplices, and members of criminal groups. Kyrgyzstan is now the only republic in Central Asia and among post-Soviet states where organized crime has been eradicated.

Tashiev also revealed that billions of dollars were seized from the criminal world for the benefit of the state. He stated, “We took away billions of dollars from them. They have nothing left and will have nothing. They are no longer businessmen-bandits; they will now become pickpockets on the streets or will spend the rest of their lives in prisons.”

The crime boss Kamchybek Asanbek, also known as Kamchi Kolbaev, was killed during a special operation in a restaurant in Bishkek. According to the investigation, Asanbek offered armed resistance using firearms and endangered the lives of SCNS employees, leading to his demise in a confrontation with the state committee’s special unit.

The elimination of Kamchy Kolbaev marks a significant milestone in the fight against organized crime in Kyrgyzstan, showcasing the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.
