New School Building Planned in Karakol City

A school in Voskhod microdistrict of Karakol city is in need of significant upgrades, according to the director of School No. 15 named after Karga Mendegul uulu. The school currently lacks a canteen, assembly hall, and sports hall, making it challenging to provide a well-rounded educational experience for its students.

In a meeting with deputies of the Ata Jurt Kyrgyzstan parliamentary faction, the director highlighted the urgent need for a new school building. With 1,300 children attending classes in three shifts, the current facilities are overcrowded and insufficient to meet the needs of the students.

Minister of Education and Science Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva shared plans to construct a new building for the school, with two options on the table. One option is designed for 500 students at a cost of 215 million soms, while the second option can accommodate 750 students at a cost of 450 million soms. The deputies stressed the importance of building a school with a long-term perspective to meet the growing demand for quality education in the region.

In addition to discussing the school’s needs, the deputies also visited the medical college named after academician Isa Akhunbaev in the area. The college, which enrolls over 1,000 students, is facing challenges related to the condition of its facilities, including the heating system and overall infrastructure.

The college director, Sultan Zhoomartov, emphasized the need for repairs and renovations to ensure a conducive learning environment for the students. Faction leader Baktybek Sydykov assured the college staff that the issue of major repairs would be addressed with the involvement of relevant ministries to improve the educational experience for all students.
