Karpaz Vocational High School Students Participate in “I Know My Country Project”

Students from Karpaz Vocational High School recently took part in the Youth Office’s “I Know My Country Project”, organized by the Youth Department under the Deputy Prime Ministry, Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment. The students had the opportunity to visit various historical and cultural sites during a two-day trip to the Kyrenia region on 14-15 December.

During the trip, the students visited the Miniature Cyprus Museum in Tatlısu, Bellapais Monastery and village, Kyrenia Castle, Kyrenia Tourism Port, Kyrenia Bazaar, Peace Landing Monument, Museum Ship, and a helicopter. The itinerary also included a visit to Lapta Youth Camp, where students participated in different activities led by volunteer leaders, and enjoyed a movie night.

On the second day of the trip, the students visited the Tomb of Ömer before returning to their school. Youth Department Director Hüseyin Ozanoğlu expressed his satisfaction with the project and announced that the “I Know My Country Project” will continue to be implemented across the island.

Ozanoğlu extended his gratitude to the Deputy Prime Ministry, Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment, as well as the Development and Economic Cooperation Office of the Turkish Embassy in Nicosia, for their significant contributions to the success of the project.

Overall, the students had a valuable and enriching experience learning about the cultural heritage of their country through this educational initiative.
