Kazakbaev Holds Meeting with Turkish Banking Association Chairman
Bishkek – On September 20, 2024, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Turkey, Ruslan Kazakbaev, had a meeting with the Chairman of the Turkish Banking Association, General Director of Ziraat Bank, Alpaslan Cakar in Ankara. This meeting resulted in an agreement to organize a specialized meeting of representatives from banking institutions of both countries under the Turkish Banking Association to address and resolve key issues of cooperation.
During the meeting, discussions were held on the potential for hosting the next meeting of the Association of Banks of Turkic Countries in the Kyrgyz Republic. Additionally, the possibility of opening a branch of Ziraat Bank in Kyrgyzstan was also raised, aiming to strengthen economic ties between the two nations.
Ambassador Kazakbaev highlighted the significance of this development, recognizing that Ziraat Bank already operates branches in 20 countries, including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Russia. He extended an invitation to Alpaslan Cakar to visit Kyrgyzstan for a working visit to further explore opportunities for expanding cooperation.
