Kazakh Artists Celebrate Culture at Singapore’s Chingay Parade
Kazakh Artists to Represent Kazakhstan at Chingay Parade in Singapore
A group of talented Kazakh artists from Astana Opera, Kazakh National University of Arts (Shabyt), and the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography will be showcasing their skills at the prestigious Chingay Parade in Singapore on Feb. 7-8.
This year’s Chingay Parade holds special significance as Singapore celebrates the 60th anniversary of its independence and marks 35 years of diplomatic relations with Kazakhstan. The participation of Kazakh artists in the event, which has never happened before, is a monumental occasion for cultural exchange and collaboration between the two nations.
The Chingay Parade, initiated in 1973 by Singapore’s founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, has developed into a vibrant representation of multiculturalism, attracting participants and viewers from around the world. Kazakhstan’s involvement in the parade is a testament to its commitment to cultural diplomacy and international cooperation.
Astana Opera has prepared an exciting and dynamic performance that seamlessly blends vocal, musical, and choreographic elements. The ensemble includes talented individuals such as orchestra musician and project manager Zhanar Abdrakhmanova, opera soloists Nazym Sagintai and Yerzhan Saipov, and a team of skilled dancers and performers.
In addition to participating in the parade, the Kazakh Embassy in Singapore has organized cultural events to further strengthen the cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Singapore. Kazakh nationals residing in Singapore will also take part in the celebrations, creating opportunities for cultural exchange and interaction between the two countries.
