Kazakh film “Happy Independence Day” wins Best Short Film at International Eurasian Film Festival
The Kazakh film “Happy Independence Day” by Camila Sagyntkan emerged victorious in the Best Short Film category at the sixth International Eurasian Film Festival held in London, United Kingdom. The festival took place from May 25 to 30 and featured a wide array of films from around the world.
The film stood out among seven finalists in its category, showcasing the talent and creativity of Kazakh cinema on an international stage. With approximately 100 films submitted from 22 different countries, “Happy Independence Day” impressed both the judges and the audience with its compelling storyline and powerful performances.
Established by the Eurasian Creative Guild in 2019, the festival aims to elevate Eurasian cinema in the English-speaking world while fostering connections between Eurasian filmmakers and industry professionals globally.
