Kazakh Universities Partner with Coursera to Offer Education Paths for Aspiring Teachers
Kazakh Universities Introduce Individual Learning Paths for Students Through Coursera
Astana – Kazakh universities are implementing a new initiative to offer individual Learning Paths for undergraduate and graduate students through the Coursera platform. This program, introduced by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, aims to provide high-quality teacher training for future educators.
These Learning Paths have been carefully curated to help students develop essential competencies required by the professional standard for teachers. By enrolling in these paths, students will have access to courses and projects selected to enhance their skills in designing curricula, organizing educational processes, evaluating student results, utilizing modern educational technologies and artificial intelligence, and mastering effective teaching methods for complex subjects.
Moreover, these paths will focus on developing research skills and pedagogical qualimetry, enabling future teachers to enhance educational processes. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to take courses on soft skills and first psychological aid, including emotional intelligence, leadership, teamwork, and stress resilience.
Universities will have the flexibility to choose from ready-made paths in the Coursera catalog or create their own customized paths. Upon successful completion of a Learning Path, students will receive a Digital Badge featuring the university’s logo, certifying their professional skills and competencies.
This initiative is a significant step towards improving the quality of teacher training in Kazakhstan and preparing educators to meet the evolving demands of the education sector. Students will have the opportunity to enhance their skills, knowledge, and teaching techniques through these individual Learning Paths, ultimately benefiting both students and the education system as a whole.
