Kazakhstan Budget Deficit Projected to Reach $8.5 Billion by 2025

During a recent plenary session, Chairwoman of Mazhilis’ Financial Budget Committee and Deputy Tatyana Savelyeva revealed that Kazakhstan’s budget deficit may reach a total of 4.1 trillion tenge (US$8.5 billion) by 2025.

The projected volume of national budget revenues for 2025 is set at 21.7 trillion tenge (US$45 billion). This includes revenues of 15.6 trillion tenge (US$32.3 billion) and transfers from the National Fund amounting to 5.3 trillion tenge (US$11 billion), which includes a guaranteed transfer of 2 trillion tenge (US$4.1 billion) and a target worth 3.3 trillion tenge (US$6.8 billion), as reported by Kazinform.

Savelyeva also stated that the planned expenses for 2025 are estimated at 25.8 trillion tenge (US$53.5 billion). The budget deficit is anticipated to be 4.1 trillion tenge or 2.2% of the gross domestic product (GDP), with a projected decrease to 1.9% by 2027.
