Kazakh Delegation Attends Arab Economy and Cooperation Forum in Doha

A delegation from Kazakhstan, led by Deputy Foreign Minister Alibek Bakayev, participated in the third session of the Arab Economy and Cooperation Forum with Central Asian states and Azerbaijan in Doha on April 30. The forum, organized by the League of Arab States (LAS), aimed to explore potential areas of cooperation between the participating countries.

In his speech at the forum, Bakayev emphasized the importance of fostering interregional cooperation and highlighted the historical ties, shared values, and common goals that unite the Arab countries, Azerbaijan, and the nations of Central Asia. He also discussed the various projects and initiatives that Kazakhstan has undertaken with Arab countries in areas such as business, trade, investment, culture, and science, reaffirming the country’s commitment to deepening and expanding this cooperation.

Bakayev put forward specific proposals for enhancing cooperation in various sectors, including economy, investment, finance, innovation, renewable energy, tourism, and infrastructure development. He also invited partners to take advantage of the services offered by the Astana International Financial Center, which are unparalleled in the Central Asian region.

Furthermore, Bakayev reiterated Kazakhstan’s firm stance on addressing the challenging situation in the Middle East, advocating for peaceful resolutions and international peace negotiations. He highlighted Kazakhstan’s support for relevant international organizations aiding the Palestinian people and providing humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip.

During the forum, Bakayev held bilateral meetings with key figures such as the Qatari Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Secretary General of the Arab League, and the heads of delegations from Tunisia and Algeria. At the conclusion of the event, the participants adopted the Doha declaration, outlining their collective commitment to advancing cooperation and mutual understanding among the participating countries.
