Kazakhstan Updates Rules for International Road Transport
Kazakhstan has recently implemented new regulations for obtaining permission for international road transport, as reported by the Kazakh online publication Zakon.kz.
The Ministry of Transport of the Republic introduced these changes, which will affect both Kazakh and foreign carriers who have ownership rights or legal grounds for the following types of vehicles:
– buses and minibuses
– motor vehicles with a total weight exceeding 6 tons (including trailers) or a payload exceeding 3.5 tons (including trailers)
– specialized vehicles intended for specific types of cargo transportation
– special vehicles primarily used for non-transport tasks
The permit system for vehicle passage through Kazakhstan is outlined by domestic legislation and international agreements on international road transport between Kazakhstan and other countries.
This update aims to streamline and regulate international road transport operations within Kazakhstan, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and international standards.
