Kazakhstan takes over chairmanship of Almaty Process from Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan has officially handed over the chairmanship of the Almaty Process to Kazakhstan. The decision was made today during the 3rd Ministerial Conference of the Almaty Process in Baku.
The Almaty Process, which began its operations in 2013, rotates the chairmanship among the participating countries every two years. From 2023 to 2024, Azerbaijan held the chairmanship. In previous years, the Almaty Process was chaired by Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkey.
This is an important transition for the Almaty Process, as Kazakhstan takes over the leadership role. The process focuses on regional migration issues and cooperation among the participating countries.
