Kazakhstan takes over chairmanship of Almaty Process from Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan has officially handed over the chairmanship of the Almaty Process to Kazakhstan. The decision was made today during the 3rd Ministerial Conference of the Almaty Process in Baku.

The Almaty Process, which began its operations in 2013, rotates the chairmanship among the participating countries every two years. From 2023 to 2024, Azerbaijan held the chairmanship. In previous years, the Almaty Process was chaired by Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkey.

This is an important transition for the Almaty Process, as Kazakhstan takes over the leadership role. The process focuses on regional migration issues and cooperation among the participating countries.

The handover of the chairmanship marks a new chapter in the collaboration and efforts to address migration challenges in the region. We look forward to the leadership of Kazakhstan in guiding the Almaty Process towards its goals of promoting safe and orderly migration.
