Kazakhstani fugitive apprehended in Kyrgyzstan
A citizen of Kazakhstan, who was on an international wanted list, has been detained in Kyrgyzstan, according to a report from the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS).
The SCNS received information that a foreign citizen who was wanted for committing serious crimes, including robbery, was hiding in Kyrgyzstan. Following investigative and operational activities, a 34-year-old citizen of Kazakhstan, who had previously been convicted, was identified and detained. He had been on the international wanted list since November 2022 after illegally crossing the state border and entering Kyrgyzstan in an attempt to avoid punishment.
The man is currently in pre-trial detention center 1, where investigative and operational measures are underway. The SCNS is working to address the situation and ensure that justice is served.
