Kazakhstan’s Influence Grows at SCO Summit, Says State Councilor

The recent Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit held in Astana has elevated Kazakhstan’s international stature to new heights, according to State Counselor Erlan Karin. In an interview with 24.kz TV channel, Karin highlighted the significant influence and authority that Kazakhstan demonstrated during the summit, which took place on July 3-4.
Karin emphasized that Kazakhstan has been receiving praise from foreign experts, observers, and politicians for its stand in international politics and for its specific initiatives. Earlier this year, the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) acknowledged Kazakhstan as one of the world’s middle powers for the first time.
One of the key takeaways from the summit was the participation of numerous heads of state and heads of international organizations, including the UN Secretary-General. Karin pointed out that Kazakhstan’s foreign policy authority was solidified at the summit, reaffirming its role and position on the global stage.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s vision of a “Just World” resonated with summit participants and international experts, further enhancing Kazakhstan’s reputation. The concept of a “Just World” has now become a prominent feature in the political discourse, reflecting Kazakhstan’s desire for fairness and equality in global affairs.
Overall, the SCO summit has propelled Kazakhstan to a new international level, enabling the country to advance its agenda and strengthen its position in the global arena. The rise of Kazakhstan’s international authority signifies a new chapter in the country’s diplomatic engagement and influence on the world stage.
