Kazakhstan’s Leading Math & Physics School Named Central Asia’s First Apple Training Center

Kazakhstan’s National School of Physics and Math (FIZMAT) Achieves Apple Authorized Training Center for Education Status

Astana – Kazakhstan’s National School of Physics and Math (FIZMAT) has made history by becoming the first educational institution in Central Asia to receive the prestigious Apple Authorized Training Center for Education (AATCE) status, as announced by the Education Ministry on March 23.

The granting of the AATCE status signifies FIZMAT’s commitment to upholding Apple’s global standards in teaching digital subjects and training IT professionals. One of the highlights of the curriculum is the certified Develop in Swift course, which empowers students to delve into the Swift programming language and create their own iOS mobile applications within the school and university settings.

Yulia Andreyeva, founder of iTeacher Academy (Apple Authorized Reseller), commented, “Until now, such centers have primarily been established at universities and colleges. FIZMAT sets a unique precedent at the school level, recognized by Apple for its exceptional teaching quality and technological training of students.”

Classes for students in grades 8-9 are conducted twice a week, focusing on programming basics, mobile application architecture, and IT project implementation. Students also have the opportunity to participate in international Apple competitions like the Swift Student Challenge. Additionally, there are courses tailored for younger students to introduce them to the Apple ecosystem and fundamental digital skills.

Mereke Amangeldykyzy, spokesperson for the Education Ministry, expressed, “The establishment of AATCE in Kazakhstan marks a significant milestone in the advancement of digital education. It provides our students with access to top-tier global educational standards and reinforces our leadership in IT training at the regional level.”

Over the past years, Kazakhstan has been actively digitalizing school education through various initiatives. These efforts have led to the complete digitization of school textbooks, enhanced internet access in 95.2% of schools, the introduction of digital educational platforms, and the integration of artificial intelligence elements into the learning process. These measures are aimed at enhancing education quality and equipping students with the necessary skills to navigate the demands of a digital future.

With the recognition of FIZMAT as an Apple Authorized Training Center for Education, Kazakhstan is taking significant strides towards providing cutting-edge digital education opportunities for its students, setting a benchmark for excellence in the region.
