Keçiören kicks off slow election process
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) has launched his election campaign in Keçiören, which is widely known as a stronghold of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP).
During his speech, Yavaş emphasized the importance of nationalism, quoting Atatürk and stating, “We are nationalists. We are directly Turkish nationalists. Everyone should know this.”
Yavaş made his first address at the Ankara City Council Consultation Meeting and then proceeded to open the first Election Coordination Center for the local elections in Keçiören, which took place in a lively rally-like atmosphere.
In addition, Yavaş announced that the CHP’s candidate for Keçiören will soon be revealed, emphasizing the need to elect a mayor who will work hand in hand with him.
