Kidnapped Scrap Dealer Held for Ransom in Avcılar
Scrap Dealer Allegedly Kidnapped in Istanbul, Family Asked for 12 Million TL Ransom
Sinan Ünal, a scrap dealer in Istanbul, was reportedly kidnapped and his family was asked for a ransom of 12 million TL. The incident took place in Avcılar, where the suspects introduced themselves as police officers and claimed to be after a thief.
Recep Ünal, Sinan’s father, recounted the harrowing experience of seeing his son being taken by the suspects. They threatened the family, warning them not to go to the police or they would kill Sinan. Despite receiving a call from the suspects earlier claiming to have scrap to sell, Recep refused to pay the exorbitant ransom amount.
The suspects had promised to call back in 3 hours after their initial contact, but the family has not heard from them since. Concerned for Sinan’s safety, the police are actively searching for the suspects in hopes of securing his safe return.
This alarming incident has left the Ünal family distraught and fearful for Sinan’s well-being, as they anxiously await any updates on the ongoing investigation. The community in Avcılar is on high alert as they support the family in their efforts to bring Sinan back home safely.
