Kılıçdaroğlu Claims Opposition to His Presidency from Two Factions
Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the Chairman of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) and the Nation Alliance Presidential Candidate, recently held a rally in Samsun alongside Ahmet Davutoğlu, the Chairman of the Future Party, Temel Karamollaoğlu, the Chairman of the Felicity Party, and Ekrem İmamoğlu, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality President. Kılıçdaroğlu vowed to bring peace, brotherhood, virtue, wisdom, and beauty to Turkey. He also promised to build a country where no child goes to bed hungry and pensioners will receive an additional bonus of 15,000 lira from the bank. Kılıçdaroğlu added that he would take money from the “gangs of five” and give it to the country’s workers, civil servants, retirees, and shopkeepers.
Touching on nationalism, Kılıçdaroğlu said that he had worked with other party leaders to establish a national tax council, which would publish a report on where the taxes are spent. İmamoğlu also spoke at the rally, enthusiastically declaring that the architects of Democracy Day would be the youth. Karamollaoğlu added that the country requires a new understanding, government, and period before stating that Kılıçdaroğlu, as the presidential candidate, is the one who can lead Turkey to a better future. Davutoğlu also addressed the rally, stating that the current presidential system of government is authoritarian and will be replaced by a strengthened parliamentary system on May 14. He also declared that Turkey will not be handed over to any terrorist organizations.
The rally was well-attended, with all party leaders declaring their commitment to improving the country’s economic and social conditions. As the presidential election approaches, it is hoped that these promises will become a reality, and Turkey’s citizens will see a brighter future.
