“Whale” Kicks off Open Air Cinema at Rita Çiftlik as Oscar Winner!
Actress İlker Ayrik’s Rita Çiftlik in Beykoz is hosting open-air movie nights, combining the concepts of “clean agriculture” and “from the field to the plate”. The cinemas started with the name “Cinema on the Farm”. The first movie to be screened is Darren Aronofsky’s “Whale” on Friday, May 12th at 9pm. İlker Ayrik announced the event through his Instagram account. “Whale” had great acclaim with the performance of Brendan Fraser in the lead role. Fraser won an Oscar for the role, and the film also brought an Oscar to the make-up team that transformed him into the morbidly obese character, Charlie. The plot of “Whale” revolves around Charlie, who obsessively loves the white whale in “Moby Dick” and tries to cope with the problem of obesity, while also trying to reconnect with his estranged daughter, Ellie. The film received nominations in the Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress and Best Makeup categories. The open-air cinema experience is something that everyone should try at least once.
