Kılıçdaroğlu Urges Action

Investigation Intensifies into CHP’s General Assembly and Corruption Allegations
Ankara’s Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office is ramping up its investigation into the Republican People’s Party (CHP), focusing on potential violations of Article 112 of the law concerning organizational conduct. This inquiry encompasses multiple aspects of the party’s operations, specifically targeting the recent 38th Ordinary General Assembly of the CHP.
Recent reports reveal that the investigation has led to the interrogation of 90 individuals, among whom is Ekrem İmamoğlu. İmamoğlu, previously dismissed from his position as the President of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality amid a corruption probe, has been summoned as a suspect along with 36 others who have been called to testify.
In a significant development, former CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has been designated as a "victim" in this case and has been summoned for questioning. This marks a notable turn in the investigation as it delves deeper into the allegations surrounding the party.
Adding to the turmoil, former Hatay Mayor Lütfü Savaş and a group of delegates have sought legal recourse to annul the upcoming congress scheduled for November 4-5, 2023. Their lawsuit has been merged into a single case file at the Ankara 42nd Civil Court of First Instance, which has postponed a decision on the matter until May 26.
As the investigation unfolds, it remains to be seen how these developments will impact the CHP and its leadership moving forward. The party faces significant scrutiny as it navigates these legal challenges.
