Kılıçdaroğlu Urges Polling Officials in Last Minute Call
Turkish Presidential Candidate Calls for Upholding Democracy
At the eve of the May 14 elections in Turkey, Presidential Candidate of the Nation Alliance and CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu addressed the volunteers and public personnel working at ballot boxes via a video message. He thanked the workers for their dedication and urged them to not give up on their posts. Kılıçdaroğlu also called on public officials to abide by law and justice.
In his speech, Kılıçdaroğlu acknowledged recent threats and pressures on the police, claiming their purpose was to prevent volunteers from showing up at the ballot boxes. He emphasized that the volunteers, virtue fighters and conscience workers were an inspiration to everyone and credited their training from the previous Ankara and Istanbul elections for their dedication.
